Are You Dehydrated?
Did you know that eight glasses of water a day may not be enough for your body? To keep yourself properly hydrated, you need to drink half of your total body weight in fluid ounces. For example, in order for a 200-lb man to keep himself well-hydrated, he should drink 100 ounces of water per day. Coffee, tea, sodas and other drinks do not necessarily count. In fact, since these drinks contain large amounts of caffeine, they end up dehydrating the body instead of hydrating it.
Even worse than the fact that our body may not be getting enough water is the possibility that the water we are consuming is acidic and is therefore not absorbed into the body properly.
